Sevda Orr is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the dynamic interplay between human-made environments and the natural world. Born on March 1st, 1970, in Turkey, Sevda's passion for art began in early childhood and has shaped every stage of her life and career.

She pursued her artistic calling at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul, where she earned a BA in Art with honors. Her academic excellence led to a scholarship opportunity in London, where she studied design and broadened her creative horizons.

Sevda’s practice is deeply influenced by her global experiences. Having lived in diverse regions—including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Oman, and now Northern Cyprus—she draws inspiration from the cultural and ecological textures of each place. This rich tapestry of influences informs her site-specific installations, which are known for their immersive quality and meditative engagement with space, structure, and nature

.

Her work aims to spark reflection and invite viewers into a renewed awareness of their surroundings. Each installation is both a personal and universal narrative—connecting material, memory, and landscape in profound and poetic ways.

In addition to her creative work, Sevda holds an MA in Art from Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design in Northern Cyprus. She is also the founder and director of Sevda Orr Studio, a contemporary art gallery in Kyrenia, where she continues to work and support other artists. She is a board member of the Association of Cyprus Paper Artists (ACPA) and a member of The International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists.

Sevda is a devoted mother of two, and she considers the balance between motherhood and artistic practice a vital part of her personal and creative evolution. Her journey is one of constant growth, resilience, and a deep commitment to celebrating the beauty of the world through art.
